Observing teaching and learning in real time is a powerful tool for improving teacher practice.

Yet teachers rarely have the opportunity to do this work together.  At the NYC Math Lab, a summer institute offered by the Math Collective, we give teachers the chance to observe, analyze and participate in the teaching of mathematics to groups of New York City public school students.
