Join the Math Collective Tuesday, December 12th for an all-day lesson study focusing on multiplication and division through the lens of Operations and Algebraic thinking.

Teachers will look together at a lesson in a third grade classroom, consider the impact of the lesson on students, and reflect on the experience with teachers from across the city.

In the afternoon teachers will have the opportunity to confer in partnership with students in second and fifth grade around similar content, providing a vertical lens into multiplicative thinking through the grades.

Below is the rough schedule for the day:
8:30 - 9:30 - Introduction: Planning team leads a discussion around how they imagine the lesson design supports students in developing a positive mathematical mindset and operations & algebraic thinking understanding.
9:30 - 10:45 - Lesson
10:45 - 11:00 - Quiet reflection
11:00 - 12:15 - Debrief
12:15 - 1:15 - Lunch
1:15 - 1:30 - Planning for conferring
1:30 - 1:50 - Second grade conferring
1:55 - 2:20 - Fifth grade conferring
2:20 - Debrief
2:50 - Reflection
