How does our knowledge of the progressions of the Common Core fractions standards help us create opportunities for students to make sense of mathematics?
This study lesson will take place in a 4th grade classroom, but the work is applicable 3-5, and teachers from any grade are welcome to attend. This all day study (8:30-3:00) involves observing the lesson, debriefing, and planning for future work in our own classrooms. Teachers will be asked to bring curriculum materials from an upcoming lesson or unit to facilitate planning.
Per diem may be available for coverage so that teachers can attend.
Participation in a Fractions Progressions workshop is recommended but not required.
